As a small team producing goods in limited quantities and with intention, we ask that purchases be made thoughtfully. Returns for full refunds are only accepted if your order arrives damaged or not as described.

All returns and exchanges must be approved by IMMODEST COTTON prior to shipment. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. 

To initiate a return or exchange:

  • Please contact us at studio@immodestcotton.com to request return authorization before sending any merchandise.
  • Do not ship items until authorization has been received.
  • IMMODEST COTTON reserves the right to refuse any returned item.
  • Please include a copy of your order confirmation, or reference your original order number, name, and date of purchase.
  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

IMMODEST COTTON is not responsible for packages lost, damaged, or stolen in transit. In the event of a lost package, tracking information and proof of delivery are required.

All exchanges are subject to product availability and the same approval standards outlined above. Approved exchange orders will ship free of charge.

WASHING GUIDE
 
CANVAS TOTES + POUCHES
 
Remove leather handles. 
Hand-wash in cold water. Hang dry. 
 
For canvas pouches: Hand-wash in cold water or turn inside-out and machine wash on delicate cycle with like colors.
 
For items with sewn leather details: Spot clean with a washcloth, avoiding leather. 
 
*Our canvases are untreated 100% cotton. If you are looking for a protective spray, we recommend using Vectra® 16 (available on Amazon.com), a non-toxic fabric protector that is effective at warding off dirt and minor stains. Please follow the use instructions provided by Vectra®.
 
INDIGO
 

Indigo-dyed fabric naturally releases dye for the first few washings. The fade brings out the grain of the fabric, creating a traditional “denim” look.

The dye will stabilize, but until then, wash all indigo-dyed items separately by hand in cold water. Hang dry in the shade.

Indigo will rub-off onto light colored fabrics. Take note when choosing what you wear with this item.

A NOTE ABOUT OUR LEATHER

We work with only vegetable-tanned leathers (colorfully dyed and undyed). This means that, unlike chemically-processed leathers, the top layer of the skins are not "dissolved" with chemicals in order to make them smooth and traditionally "perfect." Thus, the natural imperfections of the skins remain - just like humans, animals have small scratches, scars and blemishes, which are not removed during the tanning process. 

This choice to use only vegetable-tanned leathers made by us based on our environmental ethos and intentions to use minimally processed leather. 

UNDYED LEATHER

Undyed Leather is naturally vegetable-tanned without the use of synthetic finishing or dyes. It will not remain pristine over time; the leather will darken, soften and develop a slightly polished surface as it’s exposed to the sun and oils in your skin. This aging process enriches its character and is unique to its owner.

REMOVING and REPLACING LEATHER HANDLES
 
Don’t worry- there’s a trick to it!
 
You may find that removing your handles is initially challenging - this is because the holes in the leather are slightly smaller than the button to allow the leather to stretch over time while still fitting tightly. The trick is to apply counter-pressure and work one button at a time.

TO REMOVE HANDLES:
Remove handle one button at a time. Push the head of the button with your thumb while simultaneously pulling the handle off the button with the rest of your hand.
At the same time, use your other hand to push the button from behind.

TO REPLACE HANDLES:
If you can't easily push the handle over the collar buttons, you can loosen the holes by pushing a pen or pencil through from the backside. Working one button at a time, use both thumbs to put pressure on leather handle on either side of the button, while simultaneously pushing the backside of the button (inside the bag) with both index fingers.

If your item arrives damaged, please contact info@immodestcotton.com with a description of the issue and applicable photographs immediately. We will pay for a return label and will either repair or replace the item within 5-10 business days.


IMMODEST COTTON offers a 90-day limited warranty on products purchased from immodestcotton.com.

Under this warranty, if any of our products are defective in the material or workmanship, under normal use anytime within the first 90 days, we will repair or replace the item free of charge with the same or comparable product. This warranty does not cover damages arising from accidents or misuse, or from any alteration, service or repair performed by any other party other than IMMODEST COTTON.


IMMODEST COTTON will cover all shipping and repair charges for products covered by this limited warranty.
 
Outside of the limited warranty, IMMODEST COTTON will still gladly assist with items that are repairable.

Please email info@immodestcotton.com with a description of the issue and applicable photographs to determine next steps and fees.

Please ship all repairs to the below address and include in the shipment: (1) your name, (2) your return shipping address, (3) your email address and (4) a short description of the repair issue. Shipments of repairs to us (other than under warranty) are at customer’s expense.
